Job opening: Monitoring Team Supervisor (odour/air quality) in Bristol, UK

Our odour monitoring and consultancy team have an established UK presence, serving clients in the waste and water industries, and across a wide range of other industrial sectors.
We have an exciting opening for a talented MCERTS Level 2 Team Leader to join our friendly Bristol team as a Monitoring Team Supervisor. The successful candidate will support the delivery of our environmental sampling programme, and work with our Sampling Manager and Quality Manager to ensure all sampling activities are conducted to the required quality standards.
The role will involve:
- Supervision of the day-to-day operation of the sampling department in Bristol, ensuring successful delivery of all sampling activities and associated analyses.
- Supervision of 3 colleagues. Co-ordination of the activities of the sampling team, provision of technical training and mentoring of team members.
- Leading site monitoring teams as an MCERTS Level 2 Team Leader, undertaking emissions monitoring to documented procedures and adhering to health & safety procedures.
- Promotion of health and safety, and champion of safe behaviour at all times.
- Ensuring all equipment is appropriately maintained, serviced and calibrated.
- Management of the UKAS accredited sampling quality system, in line with the requirements of ISO 17025.
- Liaising with clients, preparation and authorisation of risk assessments, SSPs and reports of results.
- Liaison with accreditation body during annual audits.
About you:
We are ideally looking for people with experience in this type of role, however training can be provided for the right person. The key skills and qualities we are looking for:
- Practical experience in environmental monitoring. An MCERTS Level 2 qualification with TE3 is essential. TE4 is highly desirable, and if not already held you will need to obtain this TE within 6 months of joining Olfasense. You will be required to maintain all MCERTS qualifications.
- Supervisory experience, with the ability to lead a monitoring team.
- Experience of working with an ISO 17025 quality system, with a desire for continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, and attention to detail with a focus on delivery of a high quality service to customers.
- Full manual driving licence and passport (ESSENTIAL, applications without these will not be successful).
- The role will involve overnight stays, travel within the UK and Europe, and working outdoors at a variety of industrial locations.
