User story: Successful installation of TO evolution at University of Perugia

In the beginning of 2017, the Biomass Research Centre (CRB) at the University of Perugia purchased a TO evolution olfactometer, setting up the first academic TO evolution laboratory in Italy.

The CRB is the Italian reference centre for research on biofuels and biomass for energy, sponsored by the Italian Ministry of Environment and Territory. Moreover, the CRB is also a section of the Inter-University Research Center on Pollution and Environment “Mauro Felli” of the University of Perugia. CIRIAF and CRB are the reference organizations for the PhD School on energy and sustainable development at the University of Perugia.

“Olfasense GmbH took care to build up the system and the equipment was set up successfully”, said Michele Goretti, Quality Manager & Researcher at the University of Perugia, and added “The annual internal audit was carried out by the University of Perugia in February 2017 and the auditors really appreciated the olfactometer.”

Besides the installation of the equipment, our olfactometry expert Marc Andresen was invited to hold a 4-day series of seminars for PhD students. “The Company organized a very effective theoretical and practical training about EN 13725, performing sampling, panel selection and measurements”, concluded Michele Goretti.
